Mountain station Moosfluh Riederalp

Project overview

Itenbau AG planned the shoring, controlled lifting and alignment of the 2,000-tonne installation, which had tilted 60 centimetres on the downhill side. The cause was the retreat of the Aletsch Glacier, which reduced the flank pressure that had until then supported the mountain station. Alignment was carried out with the Stempfel system Iten AG.

Challenges

The site was in the high mountains. Six permanent lifting systems with a lifting capacity of over 3,000 tonnes were delivered and installed there. The lifting systems were to compensate for further settlement.
