Itenbau AG carried out the withdrawal of the 70-tonne tunnel boring machine “Claudia” into the launch shaft. The withdrawal with a special winch from Garaventa enabled us to cover the 840 metres in only 2.5 hours.
Challenges
The gradient was 2.6% and special sliding skids had to be installed for the withdrawal.
