Project overview
Itenbau AG moved the retirement and nursing home with a total weight of 2,500 tonnes by 28 metres. During the construction phase the building served as a temporary facility for the new build. Once the new building was completed, the residents could be relocated and the building was demolished.
Challenges
During the preparatory works, normal operations were maintained. On the day of the move the 21 residents left the building at 8.30 a.m. and were able to occupy their rooms again, already warm, from 4.30 p.m.
