Bridge Baden

Project overview

In Baden on Mellingerstrasse, a new railway bridge was built and moved to its final location during a weekend closure. This involved a longitudinal slide of around 26 metres and a transverse slide of about 12 metres using horizontal sliding systems.

The bridge was then lowered synchronously by about 20 centimetres onto the final bridge bearings. Sliding took place on the falsework, with the sliding rollers for the transverse move rotated 90° under load.

Challenges

The bridge had to be lowered 20 centimetres synchronously so that it came onto the bridge bearings at the same time.
