Project overview Itenbau AG carried out the sliding works on the SBB Gütsch bridge, moving old and new bridge elements from the track area onto a platform. Sliding tracks with various sliding sledges were built on the platform, and the existing bridge was slid out and the new bridge slid in in two parts during a weekend operation.
Challenges Particularly demanding was ongoing rail traffic on the Lucerne–Arth Goldau line, with trains passing every 10 minutes on the adjacent track. The complex sequence comprised delivery, lifting with a mobile crane, sliding in, transport over the rail, and final lifting into position at the destination.
